Job Description
Join our Timaru team delivering industrial electrical projects, installations and maintenance across a wide range of processing, manufacturing and infrastructure environments. You’ll be involved in everything from new installations and plant upgrades through to preventative maintenance, fault finding, testing and commissioning.
You’ll work alongside electrical engineers, automation engineers and wider project teams, delivering electrical solutions for some of New Zealand’s leading companies. With work ranging from major industrial projects and plant upgrades to ongoing site maintenance and support, you’ll gain exposure to different industries, equipment and large-scale industrial environments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Install, test and commission industrial electrical systems, equipment and infrastructure
- Carry out preventative maintenance, fault finding and electrical upgrades across a range of industrial facilities
- Read and interpret electrical drawings, schematics and installation documentation
- Work alongside electrical engineers, automation engineers and wider project teams to deliver industrial projects and maintenance services
- Diagnose electrical faults and provide practical, effective solutions for clients
- Maintain high standards of safety, quality and workmanship across all work
What We’re Looking For:
- New Zealand Registered Electrician with a current practising licence
- Experience in industrial electrical installation, project delivery and maintenance
- Experience working within processing or manufacturing environments would be an advantage
- Strong fault-finding skills and the ability to interpret electrical drawings and schematics
- A collaborative, can-do attitude when working with teammates, clients and other contractors
- A strong work ethic with the drive to get stuck in, take ownership and get the job done
- Flexibility to work additional hours periodically to meet project and commissioning deadlines, and to travel out of the region when required
- Experience in instrumentation, hazardous areas, machine safety or electrical inspection would be an advantage
